Fw: [HAM] Re-cap a BV pre?Jardini dave at jardini.comFri Nov 21 02:26:45 CST 2003
My reasoning was that, as I play more notes, the output gets much louder, so the audio voltage swing is more, so the pre-amp takes more current, so the power supply caps (which are dried up) can't smooth the power rail so well, so the hum in the output increases. Where's flaw in my thinking? I'm definately not a tube person, so please help me understand this! If it's not the capacitors in the pre-amp, what do you suppose the problem could be?
