[HAM] Re-cap a BV pre?Magnus Enorson magnus.enorson at home.seFri Nov 21 03:20:25 CST 2003
>Where's flaw in my thinking? Well, like Cristoph said - it's a preamp; so it doesn't put out much power to begin with. The extra load imposed by more notes played is so marginal it won't matter a bit. >If it's not the capacitors in the pre-amp, what >do you suppose the problem >could be? I would start by checking and re-soldering all grounds in your organ. These are attached to the far right end of the tone generator strip (when viewed from the back). From there ground wires go out to all major components in the organ, the manuals, matching transformer, preamp and so on. Make sure these wires are undamaged and have a good solder connection in all places. Very likely this is your problem. BUT - rebuild that preamp anyway! It's simple and cheap, and you simply won't believe the difference. Been there, done that. /Magnus
