[HAM] case 4 XB3 pedalsWarren Seale b3boy2000 at yahoo.comMon Nov 24 14:07:22 CST 2003
Greetings all, Was wondering about anyone who might know how and where to acquire a well-designed but light weight road case for a set of XB3 pedals. I've semi retired my two tone wheel B3s for the time being and using the X for occasional one nighters. The pedal design is a royal pain with volume pedal attached-seems rather fragile, heavy, awkward as hell and if it breaks I'm baked as so many functions are triggered by the side/slide on the pedal. Dumb design but.......the light weight of the X makes up for alot moving -wise. A sound compromise compared to tone-wheel but w/Leslie pretty convincing when compared to alot of clones I've used. I know I'm over justifying here-but I know there will be somebody out there who will think I'm nuts to have spent the cash on this instrument when I have two of the "real thing" at home. All I can say is, try to find some middle aged musicians willing to honk a 400 lb B3 & two 122s up a flight of stairs for one night and I'll show you a band of masochists. Anyway, my old dollies are fine for the console but the pedals are a disaster waiting to happen whether in a van or trailer. I don't know WHAT they were thinking attaching the volume pedal to the bass pedals-but gofigger! Input appreciated. I'm west of Toronto. BTW, FINALLY got to see Joey at the Orbit room in T.O. last week.....WHOA!! Regards, Warren --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!?
