It may not be possible to achieve closeness of the synth without removing
the music stand of the organ.

When I was using one synth added I custom made a mount to have a keyboard
on top of my C3. Part of the C3 cover was removed by taking out screws.

Currently I use an Ultimate A frame over the C3 to support two 76 key
synths. This works quite well and is very stable. Of course it is a bit of a
reach to the 4th keyboard(counting the C3).

I use a music stand somewhat to the side, mounted on a homemade rack, music
stand, and light conglomeration which is on old wheels from a bed frame. The
music stand is somewhat in front of the lower octave of the 76 keys, makes
it a little less a pain in the neck than if completely to the side. Yeah
some of use ,need that printed reference. Even some damn good Jazz musicians
use printed music- when you can see the chord progressions in front of you
it increases your ability to know where you can go.

The ultimate extends 10" behind the C3 on the floor. 2" forward of front of
the console at the floor and straddles the console with only about 3" beyond
each side. Impressive look- reminds me of the 4 manual pipe organ console at
the Aragon Ballroom.

The other alternative of course is to use a keyboard stand along the side.
Not too dissimilar to guys used to have a grand piano to the right of the
Hammond (rare!), keep piano tuner coming!
