[HAM] out of tune drawbar?

I have seen this before...and have to service a C3 and an A-100 with the
same problem....if the bushings in the genny get gummed up the tonewheels
will slip a little causing a warbly tone....there is a small spring that
acts like a clutch that allows the tonewheel to slip, or even stop without
stalling the generator.
I have an A100 that has this problem here... a couple of years ago I stopped
the tonewheels that were warbling with my fingers while the generator was
running...this cleared out enough of the gunk that was making the wheels
slip....but it has started warbling again.....
I think the best fix would be to clean the bushings in the generator right
out with a solvent like methyl hydrate...then re-oil...kinda a pain in the
butt....but the warble is annoying...
It is very noticable with one drawbar pulled...less with more......on
chorale with a sustained note and 3 or less drawbars pulled out...it sounds
like crap.
Cheers,
Ronnie B.
